Rehabilitation

At Windsor Hills Nursing Center, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy are available in an inpatient setting. The medical director leads the team in developing an individualized treatment program designed to help achieve optimal independence and to prevent further decline in function.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy services enable individuals to restore and/or achieve optimal movement and function and to relieve pain. Through evaluation and treatment programs, the physical therapist can treat persons with a variety of ailments including:

  • Amputations
  • Arthritis
  • Balance/gait disorders
  • Low back and neck pain
  • Other orthopedic/athletic injuries
  • Treatment following joint replacement surgery

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy services enable individuals to achieve independence in their lives despite their disabilities. The occupational therapist facilitates, promotes, maintains and enhances performance in activities of daily living skills regardless of physical, developmental, social and emotional problems. Services include:

  • Hand rehabilitation
  • Neuromuscular re-education
  • Retraining in daily living activities
  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Wheelchair management

Speech and Language Pathology and Swallowing Management

These services enable individuals to maximize functional speech, language, cognition and swallowing skills. Services are provided to residents of all ages who have a range of diagnoses such as:

  • Motor speech disorders
  • Aphasia
  • Swallowing disorders
